No, 5 GHz routers are not supported by REMOCON NET devices. REMOCON NET only supports the standard 2.4 GHz router. If you have a dual-band router, please make sure that it is set to 2.4 GHz. If you do not know exactly what type of router you have, please check your router settings or contact your Internet provider.
No, this is not necessary. It is sufficient for the REMOCON NET gateway to be connected to your Wi-Fi network. Your smartphone can be connected to the Internet via any other Wi-Fi network or via a mobile phone network for the REMOCON NET app to work.
Above all, make sure that you enter the correct Wi-Fi password during the Wi-Fi configuration in the REMOCON NET app. If this is the case, please check the following points: Check whether your WLAN router provides a signal in the 2.4 GHz frequency band. REMOCON NET does not support 5 GHz routers. Check whether a firewall or similar application that blocks external connections is active in your network. You may need to deactivate this or set it so that connections with REMOCON NET are possible. In this case, please contact your Internet provider. Check the WLAN signal in the room where the REMOCON NET gateway is located. If the WLAN signal there is not strong enough, you can boost the signal using a WLAN repeater. You need a WLAN connection at home in order to be able to use the services of REMOCON NET. If you do not wish to set up a WLAN network at home, we recommend that you use a mobile router (GPRS), which provides a WLAN connection in conjunction with a SIM card.
