In 1983, the energy-inefficient night storage heating in the single-family house was to be replaced by a modern and efficient heating system. After extensive research and consultation, the choice fell on the AEROTOP® G heat pump from ELCO. ‘Our old night storage heating used about 28,000 kWh per year,’ Mr Wyss tells us in conversation. ‘In terms of efficiency, the new heat pump is of course clearly superior, which reduces operating costs enormously.’ But the noise generated during operation is also an important criterion when choosing a heat pump installed outside. Here, too, the AEROTOP® G was able to convince Mr Wyss. ’Thanks to the low noise values of the heat pump, it could be installed directly in front of a window and close to the neighbouring property.’
