RUCKING WITH THE BEST: ELCO AT NEW CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE
ELCO has supplied three 120kW THISION L boilers and 10m2 of its SOLATRON S2.5 flat panel solar collectors to the recently opened Parc Eirias Events Centre in Colwyn Bay, North Wales. The THISION L boilers were installed in a wall-mounted cascade frame with a low loss header.
The Parc Eirias Events Centre is a cornerstone of regeneration plans for Colwyn Bay and provides a venue for community, cultural and sporting events. The £6.5m project has taken eight months to complete and now comprises a large multi-purpose indoor centre for recreational use, as well as a conference centre for business and commercial events.
The THISION L boilers were specified by Denbigh-based M&E consultants, Carpenter Davies Partnership Ltd. Commenting on ELCO, Director, Ian Carpenter, said: “We have always had a strong relationship with ELCO and have worked with them on a variety projects over the years. With Parc Eirias, we needed to specify boilers that provided excellent efficiencies in a compact design, which made the THISION L a great choice.”
M&E contractors for the project were Wrexham-based JRS Mechanical Services Ltd. Matt Foster of JRS said: “Installation and commissioning of the boiler plant went really well and we were especially pleased with the cascade kit for the THISION L. It really helped to make it a quick and simple process.”
