MHS BOILERS ARE FIGHTING FIT AT NEW LEISURE CENTRE
Staff and visitors at the newly built Portway Lifestyle Centre in the West Midlands will benefit from a low carbon heating and hot water system from MHS Boilers, which is expected to contribute to a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating.
The purpose-built building has been installed with four R607 floor standing gas boilers and 32sqm of AURON® DF evacuated tube solar collectors, supplying heating and hot water to the entire complex including a hydrotherapy pool, sports hall, gym and multi-purpose activity room.
To complete the Lifestyle Centre’s system, MHS Boilers (part of ELCO Heating Solutions) has also supplied two 400kW plate heat exchangers, two 1,875L thermal stores and two 965L INOX-MAXI buffer vessels. In addition, the centre will incorporate a new GP surgery, which will also benefit from the latest MHS Boilers equipment; including two 85kW THISION L wall hung boilers and two THISION 65/250 water heaters.
The M&E contractor for the project was Lorne Stewart. Brett Stokes and Peter Gammon from MHS Boilers worked closely with Lorne Stewart to ensure the system was fully integrated and commissioned correctly for a successful installation.
Portway Lifestyle Centre is an exciting new leisure facility for Sandwell bringing together sport, physical activity and health.
